Wayne Meade

After an early profession as a piano accompanist culminated in a tour of Europe with the Canadian Welsh Singers, Wayne began to focus on another life passion; teaching music. Wayne was once asked why he made the transition from music performance to the music classroom. His reply? “Music is the universal language of communication. The classroom is not far removed from the concert hall in terms of sharing music with others. However, children often have the gift of understanding music at a much deeper level, which is evident in their unbelievable creativity on and off the stage.”

Wayne is a Ontario certified teacher in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers. He received his Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1992, and his Bachelor of Education degree in 1993. When Wayne is not teaching music in the afternoon, he is the school librarian for the Elementary helping students with their research. Working under the supervision of the teaching staff, Wayne assists students who need remedial help.

After 18 years, Meadesmith School of Music and Drama has grown to include not only piano lessons, but guitar, band/vocal tutoring, musical theatre after-school and camp programs. Since 1999, Wayne has been providing a musical classroom environment at ML Montessori Schools Inc. which nurtures musical creativity in children.
