Upper Elementary (Grades 4-6)

Our Upper Elementary program expands upon the foundation built in Lower Elementary. Students begin with the Timeline of Life which answers the question ‘Where do people come from?’.

Students of this age grow to discover new impressions of the world of science. Units include the movement of the Earth as well as our atmosphere, biosphere and hydrosphere. Life Systems; Matter and Materials; Energy as well as Structures and Mechanisms are also explored.

The study of Rocks and Minerals, Botany and Zoology develop our students’ understanding and appreciation for the environment that surrounds them. Language skills continue to grow and develop through advanced Word Study and Creative Writing activities.

Students explore mathematical concepts including numeration, measurement and the squares and cubes of numbers; commutative and distributive laws.

All Elementary programs are coupled with an extensive Music program as well as daily classes in French.
